The Day Shelley Woodhouse Woke Up – Laura Pearson
Sometimes I pick up books all in a hurry, just cause I need something to read and I don’t have the time to vet them. This was one of those times. I picked it up and started it. Doing that can of course be a hit or miss, but when it works, when I find a book I enjoy, it’s an awesome experience as I end up reading something I wouldn’t have picked up, something different from my usual style or genre, and I love the adventure.
This was definitely not my usual genre of book, but I truly enjoyed it. It delves into domestic abuse and the vicious cycle that it may occur when it’s passed down from mother to daughter. A very serious subject, but tackled with a touch of humor, and love.
I don’t want to give it a 3.5, so I will give it a 4, but it’s sort of a 3.8! 🙂
