The Downstairs Girl

The Downstairs Girl – by Stacy Lee
one of my first period novels in a while…actually…uhm…did I ever read one? Maybe…maybe for school? I don’t remember. It was another “grabbing a book real quick” thing, but I am glad I did. I didn’t read much about it (good, or I may have not picked it up!) but I really enjoyed it. It takes place in segregated Atlanta, where not just blacks, but also Asians weren’t considered equal to whites. The story is well written, the characters come alive, and the plot twists were enough to keep me entertained till the end.
I want to give it a 4 star, but it may not be too fair on the 4 stars I have given recently, but it comes close…(again, I don’t have the half star emojis damnit…so use your imagination!)
